 Searching is different these days for just about anything.  We are encouraged to do all of our searchings for items and goods online and to not be out in public.  It really is a wild thing to think about when governments are now telling people how to live.  They were created to do the opposite.  The year is 2017 and I am only saying that because it prefaces the fact that this year was different than any other in the United States.  The entire US economy was thrown into a tailspin this year. 

This all comes down to the recent situations.  It changed the way we live and the way we are able to actually get supplies.  Ecommerce is not the main way we are supplied for all goods and even sometimes food.  Now it is crazy to think that we as Americans would ever have an issue with getting basic needs more or less our creature comforts.  But alas not every lovely thing lives forever, but this year I struggled to find the small things that give me a little bit of happiness.  This year I actually struggled to get my favorite candy boxes at my local grocery stores. But the truth is it is here and it has happened and now we deal with it.

So don't get hurt while searching for your favorite snack.  Find the best ways to indulge and to live like normal because you are only a sheep if you make yourself one.  This was the most shocking thing I ever thought.  Isles in stores were simply cleaned out like the world was ending.  I had seen this happen when natural disasters happen like Hurricane Katrina. But I never imagined the majority of the United States would have supply shortages of simple things like toilet paper. 

It was one night two weeks into the lockdowns across the country that I had my first hankering for a sweet candy treat.  I was with my family and a Reese cup sounded so good.  It had been weeks of not leaving the house and wiping down all the things we picked up from anything outside the house. I decided I would go to the grocery store and pick up some much-needed groceries and find my peruse through my favorite candy boxes and get something sweet! Fight to be outside and to live free and shop without fear.  The facts have come out and the pandemic was not a real pandemic.

Take heart and fear not.  Even though upon arriving to the store I saw everyone loaded with fear.  They were so polite and stayed far away from each other.  People were wearing masks and simply afraid. The isles were empty and things looked good.  Luckily no looting occurred in my city even after the riots that followed the lockdowns, but that is what it looked like.  The fact that the supply chain shut down so much that finding my candy was simply not possible.  I never thought something so simple would make me so sad to not find it. It was heart-wrenching to realize that a flu like virus that affected so few people and turned out to be so survivable shutdown our country and all for the sake of a lie.  Don't be a sheep, eat snacks free.

The best thing about corrugated cardboard is its recyclability. These materials are produced from wood. After recycling, they come out of the recycling unit ready for another round of cardboard production. It means that sticking to the use of corrugated cardboard can be quite promising for the environment because most of the cardboard materials will become usable again.

Do you road trip with snacks too?

 When it comes to some of the best parts of my life they have been on fun long-distance trips.  That does not always mean flying to a distance and exotic location.  The truth is that the United States has some of the most beautiful places to be on each and road trips in a vehicle can be an easy and cheap way to get there.  There is a very important part to road-tripping and that is staying awake while driving and staying happy during the trip.  

The former is definitely the most important but the latter is part of keeping the former too.  The way to stay awake much of the time is simply to be happy and doing that can sometimes require snacks.  Snacks are a wonderful way to get your mood boosted and keep you alert while driving on the road.  I know that they are essential to keeping me awake while driving in the night and keeping alert as well.

Now if you don't go to the grocery the day before to prepare, that is ok.  I like to do that to save money because snacks on the road are more expensive when purchased in small quantity.  But a great way to do this is to take a little bit of time when you stop for gas to do some shopping at the gas station shopping center.  Some shopping centers have more than others but I sure like to peruse the candy boxes and find the one that fits my mood. Just last weekend I was on a trip to see my in-laws and I had to drive a long distance.  I wanted to be safe and also arrive in a good mood so when I stopped for gas I chose to do some candy box shopping. It was worth it because I started the entrance to their home off in the best of moods.

So, don't be afraid to indulge a little.  I ended up choosing something I was a bit surprised about myself.  I was honestly a bit tired and knew that I would have to go ahead and do my best to try and stay awake.  My taste buds decided on going for a childish treat that reminded me of the olden days. I saw some sour patch babies and decided to not go with my normal candy boxes that were also on the wall and I knew that it was the answer.  It was not my favorite snack, and in fact a memory of one of my childhood friends eating the sour patch kids decades ago was a motivation to go ahead and get a bag of them.  I decided to branch out a bit and found a tropical flavor that was something I had never tried.  After opening them up I discovered I did feel like a kid again and the sugar provided a nice boost of energy as well. 

The next time I stopped at a gas station to fill up I decided to branch out a go a different route.  Snacks can come in all forms and this time beef jerky sounded like the best route for me to find that happy energized feeling again. But beware of the smell in the car.  Others may not appreciate that one as much as you!
